Job Summary

This is a student employee position for the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, located in Felmley Hall. Undergraduate Research Assistants are hired by faculty to assist in carrying out a particular research agenda.

As an undergraduate research assistant, your responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, the following:

* Research and collect material or data, library research, lab work, field work, or other project specific methodology.

* Self-motivation to complete tasks and make significant progress without direct supervision.

* Analytical and problem solving skills.

* The ability to learn new software and research techniques.

* The ability to commit to complex projects.

* Reports on status of research activities to supervising faculty.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong computer skills.

* Performs other related duties as required.

Pay Rate

$14.00 per hour

Preferred Qualifications

Completed course work in the department.

Work Hours

Work hours will be determined by the faculty member.

This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and if applicable, an employment history review, based on University Policy 3.1.30 and any offer of employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation and/or an employment history review. Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held.
